You have the passion, the ideas, and the drive… but where do you actually find the time to sit down and write?
That’s a good question.
And, it’s one of the common questions I get from many bloggers. I would lie if I say that I’m not one of them. (Well, I said it)
Blogging is a decision.
You wanted to become a blogger to pursue your dreams.
And, It is your choice.
When you develop this mindset, you will see its value. It also starts with asking yourself, “why do you want to blog?”
For example, I want to blog to build an asset, have a career, support my finances and enjoy freedom while making passive income. Also, I love to blog passionately and this is one of the things that give me joy and satisfaction to work.
When I started blogging, I had free hours and I used to blog endlessly. I was spending hours learning about blogging. I used to constantly work on my blogging tasks while I was taking freelance clients. But, now – things have changed.
Now, I am married, a wife and a mother of one year old. Life priorities and daily challenges can feel overwhelming. But, there’s one thing that is always on my mind and that’s my blog ‘SheMeansBlogging’. When you are blogging, you have this connection and attachment with your blog. You got to do it no matter when you have time, or no time.

The truth is, no one finds time. You have to make it. And the good news? You don’t need endless free hours to grow your blog—you just need smart blogging strategies that fit into your already packed schedule.

Practical Hacks To Find Time To Blog When Life Is Busy
1. Set Blogging a Priority In Your Life
Unless you make blogging a priority, you would not see urgency and growth. This is something you want to do. Maybe, blogging is your passion or you want to take it as a full-time job to make money.
The point is that blogging should be on your priority list.
You can’t build a successful blogging business if you treat it like an afterthought. Just like any business, it requires commitment, consistency, and a sense of urgency. That means setting aside dedicated time, tackling important tasks without delay, and showing up for your blog as if it were your job—because if you want it to grow, it is.
While you have a job, or kids, you are also committed to blogging. Set your realistic goals and make your plans based on that. Even if it’s about taking one hour daily.
2. Turn Major Blogging Tasks Into Small Actions
You have read it a hundred times…
Create more content.
Grow your email list.
Increase your social media followers.
Launch a digital product.
Yes, you have to do all of that to grow your blog. But, it starts with one thing at a time.
Divide your big blogging tasks into small actions.
Let’s say…We want to create more content.
- Brainstorm blog post ideas based on categories
- Figure out what type of blog posts you intend to write (Every blog post can have a different goal)
- Do keyword research
- Come up with blog titles, and subtitles
- Write outlines for first 10 blog posts
- Start writing your blog posts
- Gather photos, screenshots and images
- Design images for your blog
- Edit the blog post in your WordPress
- Add links
- Set up a publishing schedule
- Share your content on social media
- Write an email about your new post
As you see there is so much with just one blogging task. Instead of procrastinating, start with one job and get it done.
Use your block of 30-60 minutes to check off one thing from your task list.
3. Use Your Phone For Small Tasks
Go through your list of small tasks and start using your phone smartly. I have an Iphone and I use Notes App through out the day. It really helps me jot down thoughts and ideas as they pop up in my head. I also use Google Docs to continue writing my pending blog posts. And, the best thing, I often reply to important emails from my phone.
You can do things like;
- Blog commenting
- Interacting with people on social media
- Write a small email in your notes section
- Give email replies
- Gather blog post ideas
- Listen to a podcast
- Write your blog post
- Record a youtube video
- Record your voice and thoughts
4. Write 300-500 Words Daily
If I have to give only one piece of advice then it’s daily writing. It weighs so much. No matter how busy your schedule is, take out time to write. Even if you have 30 minutes, start writing. Use your phone or laptop, but just write. Those small snippets of writing will make you stay relevant to your blog.
- It will also help you stay consistent with your writing and blogging.
- It helps to uncover your creativity and writing skills.
- It makes you write faster and better.
I published a post where you learn smart tips to write a blog post in 60 minutes or less.
However, if you still doubt your writing abilities, and think your writing is not good enough, read this. It’s such a good blog post.
5. Use an Editorial Calendar
When you don’t have a schedule or a calendar, you waste time thinking what to do and what not to. With limited time hours, it’s essential to use an editorial calendar or project management apps like Asana, Trello, Monday and Airtable.
Use these apps to set your goals, and create a task list to achieve them. Or, use your notebook or journals to plan content. As simple as that.
While I like to use these applications, I still prefer my notebooks all the time.

6. Set Deadlines and Reminders
Time never slows down, which is why you need to work smarter. Set clear deadlines for your tasks and hold yourself accountable. As you complete each one, check it off—it’s a simple habit, but it brings a sense of accomplishment and momentum. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing progress, and this small practice can keep you motivated to keep going.
Some other examples can be;
- Finish the writing in 90 minutes
- Create a new lead magnet by Tuesday, 17.
- Design 20 pins in 60 minutes
When you set yourself deadlines, you are committing to a task. I personally find reminders, and timers really effective for my own blogging tasks. That way, you also do not end up doing other unnecessary things.
7. Combine Blogging With Other Activities
When life gets busy, finding dedicated time to blog can feel impossible. But what if you didn’t have to separate blogging from everything else? Instead of waiting for the “perfect time” to sit down and write, try blending blogging with other daily activities.
For example, if you commute to work, use that time to brainstorm blog ideas or outline your next post using a voice recorder. If you enjoy exercising, listen to blogging podcasts or audiobooks to learn new strategies while on the go. Even household chores, like cooking or cleaning, can become moments to mentally draft content or refine your ideas.
With toddlers, you can work while they sleep. (I guess that’s the only time)
You can also turn everyday experiences into blog inspiration—whether it’s a lesson from a personal challenge, an interesting conversation, or an observation from daily life.
By weaving blogging into your existing routine, you’ll no longer feel like you need extra time to create content. Instead, blogging becomes a natural part of your day, making it easier to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
There, you have it.
Remember, it’s not about having more time; it’s about using the time you do have wisely.
