Are you struggling to increase page views on your new blog?
Have you been wondering how do you increase your blog traffic to 25k-30k pageviews a month without selling your soul?
Trust me, we have all been there.
After all, it is only at that stage of traffic, you are most likely to make a consistent income. It won’t be a LOT of money, but it will be enough to cover your expenses and motivate you to work harder.
Before I talk about 5 tactics that blew my traffic this year, I want to tell you a bit about my blogging journey.
Editor’s (Arfa) note: Today, Chhavi, shares exactly in this guest post how she grew her blog traffic in just 8 months!
I started a lifestyle blog back in 2015 where I wrote about everything under the sun – dating, relationships, parenting, making money online, etc.
Considering I had a lot of time in hand, I did not consider investing in a blogging course and starting reading all the information available freely. Sounds great, right?
You can easily guess what happened next –
I was overwhelmed and I quit working on the blog in a month.
After a few months, I decided to give it another try. This time around, I niched it down to travel blogging.
I focused on Pinterest (guess what, I did not even have a business account!), Twitter and Facebook along with trying to build a list, creating lead magnets and what not.

What happened next – Overwhelm. I quit again. That said, I did keep the domain name and wrote a blog post when I felt like.
Fast forward to July 2018. This is when I decided to seriously start blogging and focus on building quality traffic. And, by March 2019, I was making $400-500+ a month consistently along with being finally approved by Mediavine (one of my blogging goals for this year).
For those of you who are new to Mediavine, it is the best adsense alternative and ad company for bloggers that require 25k sessions (approx. 30000+ pageviews) in the last 30 days for you to apply. In 20 days of Mediavine showing ads on my blog, I already made $250!
So, how did I manage to increase my pageviews from 1000 page views in July to 36,563 page views in March?
Let’s take a look at it.
Quick navigation
1- I niched down strategically
I had already tried niching down (travel) and not niching down (lifestyle) so I was clear what my first step will be – I had to niche down.
So, I made a list of all my interests alongside the list of the most profitable blogging niches.
If you’re ready to start a blog then follow this ultimate blogging tutorial that helps you create your own blog today! This comprehensive guide covers everything from choosing a niche to publishing your first post!
There were 2 major reasons for doing this –
- You don’t want to start blogging about a topic you do not enjoy writing on. You will get tired and annoyed in the long run because blogging is a lot about writing consistently.
- You want to select a profitable niche because they are easy to monetize. With travel blogging, I was having a hard time finding affiliate programs. Not only were my choices limited, but a lot of them also were not available for India (for example, Amazon.com automatically points to Amazon.in which made it impossible for me join Amazon affiliate program).
I decided to go with making money online niche because I was interested in writing about it (considering I worked as a freelancer for 2+ years) and I had tonnes of options to monetize my blog. Both elements are equally important!

While making money online is a broad niche (and, lots of bloggers are against starting with such a broad niche), all the posts that I write about, are interlinked to each other. This helps me provide value to the readers without having to confuse them on what my blog is about.
Once I started writing specifically about working from home, I saw that I was ranking better on Google which bought me additional traffic. This is primarily because Google understood what I write about and ranks me for similar topics.

2. Learn Pinterest
Stop focusing on all social media channels at once (if you are) and start working on Pinterest today.
Pinterest is a powerful tool to drive quick traffic to your blog. In fact, there are many bloggers who get all their traffic from Pinterest.
Before I decided to revamp the blog, I invested in one Pinterest course to learn how to use the platform correctly from day 1.
You need to understand that Pinterest is not just a social media platform. It is more like a search engine and you will need to invest time to understand how it works and constantly modifies strategies to suit your blog.
If you’re already on Pinterest then you should follow these 3 no-fail tips to boost your Pinterest traffic fast!
Learning the right techniques from the start helped me grow my referral traffic slowly but steadily. You can check out the growth of my Pinterest profile in 3 months of starting to work on Pinterest. In addition to that, Tailwind is the go-to Pinterest tool to grow on Pinterest! This post walks you through the simple process to schedule unlimited pins for massive traffic.
3. Network and feature other bloggers
A lot of known blogs and marketing gurus talk about networking and featuring bloggers. I decided to give it a try this year
I wrote blog posts on a topic (as I normally would) and asked for a contribution from 3-4 bloggers to support the claims. I added them in between the post or at the end of it. You can check out this post on blogging for beginners which are written using this technique.
Once I published the post, I shared it with the bloggers who were happy to share it with their following. That month, I had a major boost in traffic.
Look, when you are starting out, no one knows you or your blog. It is important to get as many eyes as possible on your blog so people know about it.
Editor’s Note: I also suggest you read my interview with Chhavi here where I actually shared profitable blogging tips for beginners!
Featuring bloggers allows you to make blogger friends, get access to their audience once in a while and get more eyes on your work.
But I want to give out a word of caution. Always focus on creating relationships with other bloggers and giving more than you take from them instead of focusing on asking for favors or accessing their audience in any way.

4. Offer help in Facebook groups
This is one of my favorites!
Join Facebook groups in your niche and help out people in trouble.
I have joined many groups where people talk about working from home and making money online. You can also follow these 3 secret tips to promote content in facebook groups.
2-3 times in a week I scroll through my feed looking for questions that I can answer, link to any of my relevant posts and provide value. Look at the screenshot below –
If the FB group is big enough, it can bring you a decent amount of traffic. But, whatever the case may be, you will get your blog in front of your target audience. Look at this –
There is an additional benefit of using these Facebook groups. Besides getting traffic from them, you will also connect with your target audience and know what they are looking for. This means you can find new blog posts ideas easily!
If you want to participate in blogging threads, and actually ask questions to grow your blogging knowledge then join SheMeansBlogging free blogging camp on facebook! It’s a free group to help bloggers connect and grow.
Here are 40+ free facebook groups for bloggers.
Last but not least –
5. Invest in Learning
I am not promoting any blogging products but the truth is – You need them.
I had lots of time in hand so I tried the “I will find my own way” method but you know what happened. Not only was I overwhelmed, but I quit as well.
You do not want that to happen. Whatever time you are investing in growing a blog should result in a positive outcome.
If you are looking for a bunch of products for one single price, I highly recommend to invest in Genius Blogger’s Toolkit which only comes once in a year.
If you are working on a budget, I highly recommend Ready Set Blog for Traffic by Elna Cain. I have personally used it and it helped me tremendously.

Hi Anu,
Chavvi did a wonderful post!
Yes! Chavvi is brilliant.
Indeed this is an excellent post. I’m not new to online marketing but I’ve never worked with Pinterest before and now I’m obsessed!
I’ve had a few struggles with it so far, but these are mostly admin related. It seems to be a very temperamental creature and a little over-sensitive. I think I’ve fixed the major issues and now looking to apply a proper strategy. This post has given me a lot to think about!
