Recently, one of my regular blog readers asked me about best timings to pin on Pinterest. The idea of writing on this post also came from that question. It’s a good topic of discussion for bloggers who use Pinterest as their main source of traffic. As Pinterest is one of my top traffic referrers I thought I should do this post.

Here’s how to find best times for Pinterest.

1- Do Manual Pinning

First off, you have to be active on Pinterest. You can start it through manual pinning. Start pinning on Pinterest for continuous 30 days so that Pinterest knows you are active and your pins are also scattered.

Of course, your pins need to have better quality content and the images should be attractive.

If you’re totally new, I would suggest doing following steps;

• Use a Pinterest business account
• Optimize your Pinterest profile
• Optimize pins and boards
• Create tall pins for Pinterest
• Pin for maximum 20-30 times a day
• Join multiple Pinterest group boards
• Pin to several boards
• Repin other pins

Follow above steps and do manual pinning for at least a month to see how your content performs on Pinterest. It’s the basic exercise for new Pinterest bloggers.

If you have been using Pinterest for few months, you can skip this step and move to next one.

When you visit the homepage of google analytics, you will get the website overview. Set a range of period and scroll it down. Below, you will see ‘when do your users visit?’. It shows the times when you’ve maximum visitors to your website. Use these statistics and choose the day and times to pin on Pinterest.

The screenshot shows that my best timings are 9am-1pm on Tuesdays.

But, you got to find your best timings.

4- Follow the Popular times

You can use the general guidelines for all pinners as suggested by top marketers, or companies.

According to QuickSprout, the best time to post on Pinterest is 8-11 pm, especially on Saturdays.

A/c to Fannit, the best times to pin are 2am-4am on Saturdays. And, SEJ has found out the best time is 9 pm.

In general, Saturday evenings are best times to share your pins on Pinterest. These are some popular times when users are most active and are more likely to consume content.
