Must Follow SEO Tips for Beginners

If you are trying to find out what aspects of SEO you must have to add first, then here’s a treat for you.

I’ve compiled an easy-to-understand guideline of SEO tips for beginners that you can use right now.

1. Create High Quality Content

When you visit Google, it only shows you the best links on the top pages. Based on multiple google ranking factors, content is chosen to rank on the first pages. The Search Engines are smart for choosing the best pieces of content to show online.

The first tip is to focus on creating valuable blog posts.

Initially, you’ve to first work on producing content that delivers and brings value to the readers. The upfront SEO technique is to create great content, based on quality and uniqueness.

There is the absolute importance of quality content in Search Engine Optimization techniques. Thus, it is still the beginning point of any successful SEO strategy.

A professional approach to creating quality content will help you write better content for your blog or website.

Few tips for writing great content;

  • Focus on the content (in form of infographics, blog posts and guides).
  • Take inspiration from the content and find your own style.
  • Write for readers, making sure that your writing provides answers.
  • Promote the content intelligently.

2. Keyword Research

In the Search Engine’s eyes, there is a special space for keywords. The function completely depends on the magical words.

Google can understand words. Particularly, Keywords!

Keyword research is an integral part of SEO strategies and if you know nothing about it, you might want to take interest in this Hubspot’s beginners guide for Keyword research.

Keywords in a blog post or article are such powerful words that help to rank your content

You’ve to search for only relevant keywords, that align with the content.

Google Keyword Planner is the most sought-after free tool to find keywords. The easy tool enables you to search for specific keywords.

After choosing the most relevant keyword, the task is to optimize the content for that keyword.

Important: In between keyword optimization, remember to write for readers, not for search engines

If you are still unsure about ‘Do Keywords matter?’ then Neil Patel’s blog post has got your question covered!

3. Use of Keywords (Keyword Optimization)

Your rankings will only improve if you use the keyword smartly throughout the content. Google gives you no space for Keyword-stuffing. Don’t ever think about it. It’ll not just hurt the quality of the content but will also affect the rankings.

Few tips about using the keyword in the article;

  • Integrate the keyword smoothly in the content.
  • Use it efficiently that it doesn’t hurt the quality.
  • Don’t ever write for the Search Engines.
  • Make sure you are building trust with the readers by giving valuable information.
  •

4. Title Tags

The title tags act as the strongest relevancy signal for the Google Search Engines. The tags are meant to define the content inside the pages. It is considered as the main factor for ranking.

Every article should have one title tag, optimized perfectly with the keyword. The headlines of the post are actually the title tags or H-1.

Google allows only 55 characters so it’s important to use the keyword under 55 characters.

Pages, who have targeted keywords at the beginning of the title tag usually rank better than those with keywords at the end of the headlines.

5. Meta Description

Meta descriptions act as an excerpt when your page got displayed in the search results. It appears underneath your article. The purpose of meta descriptions is to entice readers to read the post.

You’ve to keep the description within 160 characters, with targeted keywords. It should be precise, powerful and optimized with keywords.

When writing these text snippet, think more about searchers rather than search engines.

6. Add keywords or related keyword in Subheadings H2, H3

Subheads are a truly important part of a great blog post. It helps to structure the overall content. They will not just give your readers an understandable format but they are one of the resources to affect search engine optimization.

The SEO strategy of using H2 and H3 tags in a blog post will give you a great win. And, WordPress will make this happen so quickly.

These tags become more potent when they have relevant keywords. It’s not necessary to have the main keyword but you can always use relevant keywords in these tags.

7. Internal Linking

Interlinking helps spiders ‘easy to crawl’. The Search Engines have to provide a better understanding of your blog and it can be only accomplished by interlinking the pages of your site.

You’ve to link to your own content, with the most relevant keywords. It’ll not just make the reader stick to your website but it also signals Google about the good content.

It also proved to be efficient for reducing the bounce rate of a site.

8. Content Length Matters

Today, searchers want detailed information and complete guidance about a specific topic. The lengthy posts provide in-depth guidelines and educate well. Remember, the key to producing shareable content is writing perfect blog posts that impress readers.

Now, Google search for expanded topics with more valuable information to rank first. It’s clear that lengthy posts have complete content, useful interlinks, and helpful external links.

The purpose of writing a detailed post should be to provide a valuable copy of the structured content, headlines, and links.

    Hi Christine,

I second on that. Sometimes, we desire to write what we actually want just neglecting the yoast requirement. SEO can be a bit challenging when it asks you insert a certain keyword in between a content which can be frustrating too. But, that’s how it goes. However, I know several bloggers who don’t completely rely on yoast but be strategic in keyword selection. True, there’s so much to learn and implement. I’d welcome you 🙂

Love this comprehensive post. Especially love the point about writing detailed content. Many bloggers and content producers assume people are always short on time, so short posts are better. However, I’m learning that it’s going to be very difficult for people to find these posts organically unless you’ve already got a very popular site. Thanks again
