HOW TO USE FACEBOOK GROUPS FOR BLOG GROWTH
You want loads of blog traffic to your site. Admit it.
Honestly, who doesn’t?
Nowadays, people are getting more fascinated toward online entrepreneurship and starting their own businesses. Comparatively, there are more bloggers now. And, a lot of new bloggers are seeking guidance to start a profitable blog in order to avail the perks of working from home and make money online.
The criteria to promote content is also getting more complex.
But, you’ve to be a little cautious when taking parts in social media communities. Before we delve into the content promotion techniques, these tips offer simple guidance of using Facebook groups.
Follow these tips to use facebook groups for your blog growth.
Also, I have shared some free facebook groups for you to join. Keep reading and you will find some groups at the bottom.
You can also join my facebook group here.
1) Read guidelines – It’s written for you
Smart Facebook groups, managed by top entrepreneurs, take strict actions to keep a check on group members. Even, they also kick out spammers and people who don’t follow rules.
When you send requests to join facebook groups you’ve to read guidelines and follow the rules. It’s truly important.
I never send out a request unless I read the guidelines.
It hardly takes a few minutes to read the rules and understand it. If still, it worries you, contact the group owner on the given email address or their website.
Make sure, you abide by those rules.
2) Help Others – Don’t ever neglect this
It’s the second fundamental key for taking active participation in facebook groups.
You’ve to be a good member.
Members only join these communities to learn and grow their blogs. In an effort to get your content shared on several social media platforms you’ve to offer free help to them.
I don’t say it’s compulsory but this is the best way to rank yourself better.
If someone introduces a thread or asks a question, be genuine enough to reply and provide helpful sources. In order to promote content in facebook groups, you’ve to act like a good member. I don’t say you cannot take part in promotion but I’m just revealing the best tips to help you get good results in popular facebook groups.
If you just put the entire focus on self-promotion instead of helping others chances are that you’ll have poor results in blog traffic. No one would bother to read your content too.
It doesn’t matter what sort of help you tend to provide.
It’s okay if you just share your feedback on a certain question.
When you give feedback to other contents, people recognize your efforts of leaving a comment to their site or sharing the post.
Here’s how you can ONLY get authentic comments to your blog.
3) Get yourself noticed
Members who try to come forward to help and provide the best resources usually get better results.
You have to get yourself noticed. This!
Suppose you are an active member who often answers queries and brings solutions. You are giving time every day or week to do so. Now, you have strategically built an audience or members who look for your help.
Maybe, they determine your skills for a specific niche. Your expertise has compelled them and now, they seek help from your blog. Isn’t that impressive?
See, if you are using facebook groups in an efficient manner you can achieve tremendous results.
The truth is, you’ve, to be honest in Facebook groups.
3 SECRET TACTICS TO PROMOTE CONTENT IN FACEBOOK GROUPS
I’ve been part of the some best facebook groups for marketing and blogging purposes. After active participation for months I’ve figured out the top 3 secret techniques YOU SHOULD KNOW to promote content in facebook groups.
But, I’m giving these tips to you.
A lot of people ask similar questions;
i. What’s the best way to promote content in facebook groups?
ii. How to use Facebook groups to get maximum results?
iii. What strategies to follow for promoting content?
Few secrets for you.
Let’s thrive.
1)SHARE YOUR CONTENT STRATEGICALLY
Everyone knows how to share an URL link to the recent blog post in a facebook group thread. Am I right?
You also know the basics.
But, I’m sharing these tips to get notable blog traffic through popular facebook groups.
You’ve to use these tips when it’s a promo day or when you are thinking to share your content with other facebook groups.
- Write briefly 2-3 lines about the blog post
- Try to insert a CTA in the short description of the post
- Use an attractive featured image for facebook
- Don’t make the description too lengthy – no one has time to read.
- Make it attention grabbing
Don’t ever just drop a blog post and run!
Return the favor.
If someone has left a comment to your site, take a minute and view their blog. It’s a good idea to build a relationship with another blogger. If their blog has inspired you, be generous to leave a true comment to their blog post. It hardly takes a minute or two. Don’t forget to spend time in building blogging network.
Here is an example of a brief description of the blog post.
Failing to obtain comprehensive guide of starting a new blog from scratch? Creating a profitable WordPress blog takes less than 10 minutes if you know what to do.

2) DON’T SHARE SAME BLOG CONTENT TO 5 DIFFERENT FACEBOOK GROUPS
This is one of the common mistakes facebook group members make when they participate in promo threads or sharing their content.
I’ve often seen the same blog post floating over a number of Facebook groups. I understand every group has a different audience. But, popular Facebook groups have hundreds of active members in common.
It is annoying.
In order to get maximum page views to your blog post, you should try to promote different content on Facebook groups in a single day.
If I’ve viewed a blog post by a member of a facebook group I don’t waste my time in viewing the same blog post in another group. It’s not worth reading the content again.
It makes sense. Right?
If you consider Facebook as a great social tool then pages and groups can definitely help you gain exposure. I have recently build a new Facebook page to share all content that helps new bloggers and business owners grow online.
If you have a facebook page you should also learn about facebook branded content to get more exposure.
3) TRY TO FOLLOW PROMO SCHEDULES
I also understand it’s absolutely not possible to be the first one to add the comment in a promo thread every time. But, you want to learn how to promote a blog on facebook?
Participate in threads.
I’ve noticed good results when I promoted my content instantly as the thread went live. It even produces good results if you follow the thread in few hours.
But, if you are honestly committed to returning the favors you can expect amazing results in facebook groups.
Every facebook group has different promo schedules. You can find them in the group guidelines.
Remember, don’t promote heavily in facebook groups.
You are not a spammer!
You work hard to build readership and your blog has a purpose to deliver to the readers. Always remember!

http://www.momentsformeonline.com
The one part of this I’ve overlooked is not promoting the same post in multiple groups’s threads. Maybe I might consider that in the future.
Thank you so much for these tips!! I’m new to blogging and I do some things right but most things wrong so far but I’m learning as I go. You have amazing content. I appreciate these tips
I’m glad Wendy this helped you.
Rosemary, I’m really hopeful this strategy is going to help you promote diversified content and get maximum results.
I appreciate your comment, Connie. Blogging is a tough job and every day there’s something new to learn. I’m sure you’ll understand every bit of it with time and of course, hard work.
This is a great guide!! Facebook groups are great, it sometimes takes a couple to find the best fit. I agree with you on not sharing the same post on every Facebook group! It takes some planning but you should switch it up.
Thanks for this info on Facebook. You have an unstoppable way of sharing content. Cheers!
Great post! This is something that I just recently started doing. I even make an excel sheet with all the promo schedules (I’m such a nerd!). But it makes a huge difference. It is a great way to grow your readership and help other bloggers at the same time!
Thanks for sharing these great tips!
I agree 100%. Being a good member is key to getting the support you need when you need it. It is also important to be authentic. Giving sincere help means so much than just faking it. Take the time to give helpful advice and read articles to not only share but to comment as well makes all the difference. We are a community and if we treat others as we want to be treated, there will be no stopping us!
A great tip is to write it all down. I created a simple printable for organizing my Facebook groups. This makes it so easy to see what promos are on what days so I waste less time and get more done. 🙂
These are some great tips. I like the point about not sharing the same content across all of the groups. I am also going to start writing better descriptions. Thank you.
Thanks, Bobbi. Finding the best facebook group can take time but it’s worth joining.
Well, thanks Rhonda. It feels great when people appreciate the content.
Great tips. I need to remember or write down group promo schedules. I’m always forgetting and scrambling to post content to groups.
Yes, please leave helpful and genuine comments! Not just “nice post”, tell us what you like about our post. I know I always appreciate someone pointing out a helpful tip, or a link not working. Otherwise, why bother? We will all be more successful by helping each other 🙂
Feel free to add my Facebook group to your list!
It’s fairly new, and I’d love to have new members that want to be engaged and take their blogs to the next level!

Super helpful info and advice. This comes at a really good time for me, too.
Interesting tips. Thanks for the ideas.
great tips!
Arfa – I’m visiting from the Blog Share Learn Facebook group. You make some great points. I am guilty of sharing the same content across several groups, but I admit, it is annoying. I need to vary that. I also will implement leaving a description when I leave a post. Good job. Thanks for the tips!
Reading about sharing DIFFERENT posts in each group each day was such a lightbulb moment for me just now! Thank you so much, I’m going to start implementing this new concept tomorrow!
Thanks Chelf 🙂
Yes, Sarah. This is the technique that helped to get more page views on different posts.
Great techniques, we use some of these already and will use some of the others
I used facebook groups to drive most of my traffic to my blog. The tips in this post will go a long way to help me use the groups in the best way. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for the tips! I’m already trying some of them out in my own facebook groups. Also, if you don’t mine me asking, what service do you use for your download optin (When you click to download and the optin pops up)? I’ve been using optin panda on wp, but I like how neat and simple yours is. Thanks so much!
Hi hi….you have helpful tips as always Arfa. Sometimes I use a CTA and other times I don’t. I will make an effort to make this constant. I’m also very keen on following instructions…Thanks for sharing this
I will definitely be promoting this post in the Share Your Blog Posts + Tips and Tricks group! 🙂
Thankyou Fabiola 🙂 I really appreciate that.
Thankyou Phaytea. I’m sure these little tweaks can bring noticeable results.
That’s great, Ariel! I use mailerlite forms and integrate it with popup maker plugin for a simple and clean popup. It’s easy.
Hope that helps 🙂
Absolutely. These are the tips I’m using too and thought it would help my readers too. Best of Luck John 🙂
Thanks Luis. All the best 🙂
I really appreciate your comment, Cathy. I noticed that people share similar content on multiple groups which don’t bring constant traffic to their sites. Honestly, it annoys me too and I don’t visit the same blog post over and over again. I think no one does. So, there’s nothing wrong in being a little smarter by adding little tweaks to the promotions, right?
So many great tips here. I’ve joined quite a few groups recently and make sure I write a little blurb about my page/post and since I write about cakes, always include a cute cake picture – it seems to work!
Great tips! Making yourself an integral, active member of the community is so important before you start sharing! That way, you can be a resource and not a spammer 😉
I am guilty of sharing the same content across groups.. my blog is new so I have limited content to share! In a few more months that will be different 🙂
Hi Arfa,
True it is. Returning the favour is indeed a great gesture. When someone is taking time to read and share our posts, it becomes even more essential to do our bits.
I didn’t realize this side of group posting. Posting different posts in different groups in a single day surely makes sense.
Thank you for sharing all these tips. Take care and have a great day 🙂
Thanks, Manidipa. Absolutely! This is why communities are made, to support each other. Yes, I’ve significantly noticed the difference of posting different content in groups. I’m sure this guide provides strategies that actually work. Have a good day too 🙂
Be engaging and return the favor. So true!
http://moosmusing.com
Well, that’s okay if you are completely new to blogging. You can still use a different image and description to get more visits 🙂
Thanks, Erica for sharing. I agree excel sheets are so helpful in finding the exact information in an understandable format. It totally makes a huge difference!
This is so wonderful, Tracy. I assume you’ve set a tight schedule on promoting and making the best out of these communities. I absolutely agree with you on giving the advice to grow and help each other to expand. Exactly, everyone is making efforts and doing the restless hours of work to get the best resources and boost up the social engagement.
Your strategy of promoting content using promo schedules is definitely outstanding. And, I’m sure you are getting great results too 🙂
Wow Arfa, great tips. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been guilty of sharing the same post in multiple places and I haven’t been posting to very many blogging groups. Thank you also for the list. I downloaded and will be checking them out.
As silly as it sounds, I never thought of changing up my content between groups on the same day. Good tip!
Great blog post! 😉
Thanks for the tips!
Facebook groups bring nice traffic to my blog 🙂
I would LOVE to guest post on your blog. I sent you a PM on Facebook, hope to hear back from you soon!
This is so very helpful. I’m trying to pick just one tip – but really almost all of them are new to me. I’m so glad I found you (through a facebook group). I actually clicked on your blog because you replied so kindly to another bloggers post that I took notice. So I can say as someone on the recieving end – your techniques work!
Thanks for the great post choc a block full of tips to use. I’ve only been part of facebook blogger groups for about 3 weeks and it is a lot of work but I am starting to come across the same people and we are supporting each other. It is a lot of work as I try very hard to support other bloggers but find that quite a few do not reciprocate the shares, likes etc. Some will thank you but not return the favour, even when they are just above or below you and 100% reciprocation is required. Oh well, this is when positive self talk is necessary!!!!! LOL
Thanks, Debbie! I’m glad you liked it. Let me know your results after implementing the strategies.
Casey, I’ve been getting the same comment from different bloggers. That’s definitely a good tip 😉 Try it and let me know if it made a difference.
Thanks, Eva! That’s good to know facebook groups work in your blog favor. I need to check 🙂
Hi Rebecca! I genuinely appreciate your comment and feedback.
Working on one tip at a time is great! Honestly, that’s how I do it. Whenever I read something significant I couldn’t resist sharing my opinion and appreciate the content maker. I understand how much restless efforts a writer put up in crafting best content for readers. And, in return, I get encouraging comments from people like you 🙂
Thanks a lot, Rosalie. To be honest, facebook groups are only fruitful if you don’t expect reciprocation every time. Because no one will do it for 100%. And, I have personally experienced it from over 4 to 5 months. You just need to be a little smarter when taking parts in facebook groups. That’s simple!
Of course, self-talk is how one gets inner motivation every time 😉
This is very insightful! I will be applying these tips while promoting my blog! Thanks!
There are some great tips here for new bloggers. It’s a lot of work to promote your blog. Maybe these tips will drive a little more traffic my way!
Thanks, Venessa! I hope it will a difference to your blog results.
Absolutely, Stacey! Blogging is actually a lot of work. Learn new tips and implement.
Awesome tips. I’m currently working to get traffic to my blog. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Lathiya! I’m sure this way you can get loads of traffic from facebook groups.
I’m a lazy, random blogger. I do it mostly for fun, and because I love to connect with people from all over the world. If money comes through my blog it’s okay if it won’t I’m fine just the same. But I love to read other people’s strategies and see their results. I’ve been following a few bloggers for years and I watched them turn their little free blogs into real businesses, it’s exciting. The main thing for me it’s the people I connect with. I’ve ‘met’ lovely friends in these years of blogging. That’s gold to me!
I love the tip about not promoting the same content across groups. I will implement that today.
I was late to jump on the Facebook group bandwagon, as an introvert it can be a little overwhelming. I’m totally guilty of sharing the same thing to different groups. I think I will take a little time today to choose a few different posts and craft some little intros so I can grab them easily. Great tips as always ????
Hi Claire! Taking parts in Facebook groups can be overwhelming at times. But, the results are definitely good. Not just in terms of traffic but also opportunities. Let me know how the idea of posting different stuff in groups work. I really appreciate that 🙂
Thank you for sharing all of this!
Jill

Great Tips! I didn’t know to do the 2 – 3 lines or even the cta which is kind of a “duh” for me. Can’t wait to put these to the test!
I’m glad you got to know about adding descriptions to your social media links. Let me know about it, Shauna 🙂
Great information. I have recently started joining and participating in FB groups. I am enjoying it, but I am finding that I am having to pass on quite a few chances to post. When the rules are that I have to respond to every post in the thread and there are already over 300 by the time I am ready to post I take a pass. I don’t have the time to comment on that many posts. I do enjoy seeing what other people are interested in and their take on the topics in their posts.
Hi Brenda! You are certainly right. No one has time to respond to 50 posts at a time or let’s say 300! These are great numbers. I’d encourage you to stop taking parts in such threads. Just see where the admin doesn’t force you to complete all the likes, shares etc. Importantly, every post is not of your interest. Why should you invest hours in doing the favors? Read the rules and see if you are allowed to share a post without completing the returns. I mean it’s a good way to connect and engage with others. Definitely, a must step to get engagement from other bloggers and appreciate their content. But, it shouldn’t be forced.
There are many amazing groups where you are not compelled to complete the tasks. But, it’s a good way to connect with other bloggers and build relationships. Hope it helps 🙂
I’ve dreaded and neglect FB share days for quite some time now. But, about a month or two ago I have been somewhat actively participating. I have seen a nice traffic boost to my sites because of it. But, some threads can be ridiculous with their rules. “Ain’t nobody got time for that”
I soo agree with reading guidelines! A lot of people don’t read them coz they think they’re similar to another group’s and they end up doing the wrong things and being banned. Great tips.
This a great post how to properly share a blog post in facebook groups. Don’t agree with post only once. Sharing/posting a single post only once will not give any exposure, will have to share the same post more then once. 4-5 times in different groups but not more than that.
A thin line is between promotion and spamming on facebook groups.
Have to find large groups with active members to gain any exposure. There are many large groups, but how much active users inside?
Great post. I am a firm believer that common sense is not common, but learned. This is a great place to learn common sense. Thank you! I have also found your Facebook group to be very helpful and is one I like to participate in.
I am finding your information amazingly helpful. Where would I find a clickable link to 50 Facebook Groups to Help You Promote Content? Thanks so much!
Thanks so much, Karen! I have just created a new form through which you can easily access the list. Refresh the same page you’re on, and you will find a new form to download the list. Otherwise, you can also join the ‘secret content library’ form placed on the right side bar.

Thank you, so far I am just creating FB pages for my blogs now I am thinking to create FB group for the new project: http://www.TechoMix.com to see the results if they are better than pages.
Hi Usman,
Yes, you can create one and see if they are better than pages.
Thank you for these helpful tips. Now I know I should stop wasting time promoting the same content on different groups.
Hey Brittany,
Yes! You should definitely try doing this and see if it helps in gaining more views to your blog. I’m sure, you get more views through facebook groups. We should not promote the same content over and over again.
I find these tips helpful and will if God Almighty wills, will promote my content on fb.
Thank you
That’s good to know, Noman! Best of luck
Wow . This is my second writing. Hit a button and all disappeared.
Well what I wanted to say is that this is a good learning blog. Thanks
Also that I am not sure yet what a promo schedule is. But I am going to learn quickly. Thanks again.
